Terms of Use

Effective Date: [28 March 2025]

Welcome to the official website of Matt Watt (mattwatt.wtf). These Terms of Use outline the conditions under which you may access and interact with the Site. By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If that sounds too formal for your liking, you're still agreeing by being here.

Recontextualised Materials as Intellectual Property

This website may feature images, screenshots, text fragments, online listings, or found materials that originally appeared in other public or semi-public contexts - such as Facebook Marketplace, chat logs, classified ads, physical stores, forums, or everyday digital environments. These materials are deliberately selected, reframed, and recontextualised as part of an ongoing conceptual art practice. Their meaning is altered by their placement, presentation, and inclusion in the artist’s body of work.

As such, all recontextualised material displayed on this website—regardless of its original source or authorship - is considered part of the intellectual property of Matt Watt when presented in this context. These materials are claimed as artworks in their re-authored, reframed form. Their inclusion is part of a broader artistic methodology involving appropriation, irony, and the study of meaning within digital and physical spaces.

By accessing and viewing this content, you acknowledge and accept this framework. If you believe a specific image or text requires attribution or removal, you may reach out via the contact page. However, the right to recontextualise remains a core aspect of the work and will be defended accordingly.
